On October first a three stamp set was issued for Children's Day. A previous set honoring this event was issued on October 7, 1968. For some reason the day was not commemorated by any stamps for 1969. The stamps feature three famous paintings by a British and two French artists.

• The stamps exist in sheets that would have been sold at the post office mint, with plate numbers and the name of the printer in the bottom corner, and without either the plate number nor the name of the printer that would not have gone to the post office. The sheet with the plate number can be found with a CTO cancelation with a date in it. The date is 1 October 1970. The sheets without the plate numbers do not have a date in the cancelation. Additionally, the paper of the sheets without the plate numbers is yellowish in appearance, as opposed to the white of the other.
