Baroody Essays for Other Entities

In addition to the contract for Dubai, Mr. Stephan had contracts with the Sheikhs of Ajman, Fujeira and Umm al-Qiwain. Due to the heavy financial investment to get the production of stamps underway and the opening of the Dubai Post Office, these Sheikhdom's stamp production was set aside.

Mr. Stephan, however, did have essays printed for the Sheikhdoms, but nothing ever came of the effort. In time, he sold the contracts and never became involved in the stamps of the three sheikhdoms.

The essays exist in the form one would expect such to exist - a variety of images, colors, combinations of color, on gummed paper, perforated and imperforated. Ironoically, the perforated stamps are seldom seen as most were sold to collectors imperforated. Even the waste paper that was used to during the printing process was saved and sold. Many are illustrated here.

When multiples are shown, they are listed under the sheikhdom shown in the upper left hand corner of the piece.

Additionally, Mr. Stephan produced some issues for another group and the name of the country on the essays was Audhali. The hawk perching on a branch, prepared in the reddish-orange and blue format for Fujeira, also appeared on the Audhali essays, in various colors.
