Delhi Varieties

These Delhi covers are very tedious to sort. One must look for two things:
1. The pattern of the swatzikas on the left. There are both large
and small ones in the designs and there are different patterns.
2. The placement of the letters in the surcharge. They are not
always in the same alignment.
- Double printing of the stamp and "Express Delivery". The "I" is directly above the "S" and the small swatzikas are number two in the first row, number one in the second and numbers one, four and five in the third row.
- Bottom row consists of solely small swatzikas. The "I" is directly above the "S" in "PAISE."
- The second swatzika in the top row is smaller as is the first in the second row. In row three the small ones are the first, fourth and fifth.
The "I" is directly above the "S".
- This is the same cover as the one above. The difference is that the die has seen some use and the impression is wider and darker.
- The only small swatzika is the fourth one in row two. The "I" is directly above the "S".
- The second swatzika in row two is small as are numbers two, four and five in row three. The "I" is directly above the "S".
- The last two swatzikas in row one are small and numbers two and three in row three. The "S" is slightly to the left of the "I".
- In row one numbers four and five are small as are numbers one, three, four and five in row three. The "S" is slightly to the left of the "I"
