The postal announcement for the second part of the new definitive set stated, "It is regretted that because of difficulties arising out of the recent strike of postal workers in the United Kingdom [.] the date of release of this second part of the 5th Definitive issue has had to be postponed, and that it has not been possible to include illustrations of the various stamps in this stamp new bulletin."

The stamps of the second half consisted of the 5dh, 10dh, 20dh, 35dh, and 10R values.

• A registered, airmail cover from Deira to London, dated 6 January 1972, bearing two stamps from the last definitive set and one from a previous one.

• This is an imperforate item from the files of Format International Security Printers. After they went out of business their files were sold and the material largely sold at auction.

• The above illustration is not a cover, but a Christmas card portraying the stamps of the Fifth Definitive issue. The card was printed in W. Germany for the Al Nasr Novelty Stores, Dubai. It was obviously made for the Christian population living in Dubai, or to be sent to Christians by people of other religions. There is no printed message on the inside.
